1. What is the cargo transportation technician qualification test?
By securing the expertise of freight vehicle drivers, we are improving transportation services, ensuring safe operation, and fostering a sound freight transportation industry.
In order to promote this, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority has been entrusted with the project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport from July 21, 2004 to engage in cargo transportation.
Conduct qualification tests.
By introducing a cargo transportation qualification test system, we are improving the qualifications of cargo workers and preventing traffic accidents caused by negligence.

2. Eligibility for cargo transportation worker certification
– Holder of a class 2 or higher driver’s license
– Age 20 or older
– More than 2 years of driving a private car, more than 1 year of business experience (bus, taxi experience)
– If 2 years have passed since your cargo transport qualification was revoked
– Cases that do not fall under the grounds for disqualification under the Freight Vehicle Transport Business Act
– Compliance with detailed driving aptitude test (new test) within 3 years
3. Test application
– Online application (application/inquiry > cargo transportation > reservation > application)
*Scan and register photos as JPG image files.
– In-person registration: 18 testing centers nationwide
– Driving experience (duration of driving license as of test date, excluding cancellation/suspension period)
(* However, when applying on-site, you may not be able to register for the test due to the number of applicants, etc., so please check the test registration status online if possible before visiting.)
– Test application fee: 11,500 won
– Required items: Driver’s license (excluding mobile driver’s license), 3.5 x 4.5cm color photo taken within 6 months (limited to those who did not submit)
4. Take the test
– Each regional headquarters testing center (enter the room 20 minutes before the test starts)
– Exam subjects (4 subjects, 80 questions per round)
1st session: 09:20 ~ 10:40
2nd session: 11:00 ~ 12:20
3rd session: 14:00 ~ 15:20
4th session: 16:00 ~ 17:20
* The number of tests may change depending on the regional headquarters.
5. Legal education for successful applicants
– Online training application for successful applicants (Application/Inquiry > Freight transportation > Training application > Training for successful applicants (online))
– Separate information will be provided only to successful applicants (total score of 60% or higher)
– Educational materials for successful applicants
Training fee: 11,500 won
Certificate issuance fee: 10,000 won
1 photo (limited to those who did not submit)

6. Issuance of certificate
-Eligibility for application: Those who have passed the written exam for cargo transport technician qualifications and completed all training (8 hours).
-How to apply for a certificate: Apply online or in person
-Certificate issuance fee: KRW 10,000 (online payment including postage)
-Application documents: 1 copy of the application form for issuance of a cargo transporter’s certificate (omitted in case of online application)
-Certificate application online: Received within 5 to 10 days from the date of application (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays)
-Visit issuance of certificate: Visit to 14 testing centers and 8 inspection centers nationwide by Korea Transportation Safety Authority · Issuance location
