You can check the amount of RAM installed on your computer in the Properties of My PC (My Computer). You can access My PC by searching for “This PC” in Windows Search and executing it.

Check RAM memory capacity in my PC properties
When I enter the properties of my PC, the system window appears as shown in the picture above. Here, “installed memory (RAM)” means the amount of RAM installed in my computer.
You can access the task manager by pressing “Ctrl + Alt + Delete” three keys on your keyboard at the same time.
How to check ram capacity in task manager
If you click the “Performance” tab in the top tab of the Task Manager, the screen will appear as shown in the picture above. If you click “Memory” here, you can see the current computer’s memory (RAM) component status in real time.
The RAM capacity of the computer is displayed as “16.0GB” or “8.0GB” in the upper right corner, and the current RAM usage and available capacity of the computer can be viewed in real time at the bottom. The graph shows how much RAM your computer is currently using.
RAM manufacturers are usually something that people who are interested in computer parts want to know. Samsung, Hynix, and Micron are famous, but among them, Samsung RAM is famous for its good overclocking yield, high reliability in many areas, and the most preferred manufacturer.
If you are curious about the manufacturer of this RAM, you can check the sticker attached to the RAM yourself, or use software that shows computer component information such as CPU-Z.
How to check RAM manufacturer
If you open the computer and look directly at the RAM, you will see a sticker attached like the picture above. The manufacturer’s logo is attached to the far left of this sticker. If the M logo is attached like the picture above, it is a RAM made by a company called Micron in the United States. Other than that, Samsung and Hynix are famous. It will most likely be one of the three: Samsung, Hynix, or Micron.
How to check RAM information and manufacturer in CPU-Z
CPU-Z is the world’s most popular computer hardware and system information output program. You can check most of the computer parts and system information with this program. After installing the CPU-Z program and clicking “SPD” on the top tab, a screen like the picture above appears, where “DRAM Manuf.” This is the RAM manufacturer’s part. You can see that it says Samsung.
Also, if you change the slot (Slot #2 part) on the top left, you can view information about each RAM inserted into the computer’s main board separately. Each RAM manufacturer can be different, so it’s a good idea to check each slot.
For reference, even if the manufacturer of the RAM is different, there is no problem with the relatively recent DRAM, DDR3 and DDR4, and DDR2-class RAM may have compatibility problems if the manufacturer is different.
With DDR4 coming out these days, it’s better to check if the manufacturer has a different clock frequency than anything else. For example, if you insert 3,200 MHz class RAM and 2,933 MHz class RAM at the same time, 3,200 MHz class RAM can only show the performance of 2,933 MHz class, so it is better to purchase the same clock frequency as much as possible.
