The Insurance Development Institute is an insurance premium rate calculation agency established in accordance with Article 176 of the Insurance Business Act. It is an organization that calculates, verifies, and provides insurance premium rates, collects and provides insurance-related information, creates statistics, and conducts research on insurance.
Car History Enforcement Background
After the IMF bailout in 1998, the used car trade increased by more than 20% in the number of new cars sold, and the used car trade was brisk. As the used car market has been activated, damage to used car consumers has increased rapidly as accident-free vehicles are sold after being sold as accident-free vehicles during used car transactions. Accordingly, consumer protection agencies such as the Korea Consumer Agency and Consumer Protection Federation and civic groups are working to ensure transparent distribution of the used car market and consumer damage. For prevention, we requested the disclosure of automobile insurance accident information held by the Insurance Development Institute. The Insurance Development Institute has been providing CarHistory service since April 2003 with the cooperation of the relevant authorities and organizations.

Information Service Hours
In principle, the use of the service is available 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless there is a special obstacle in the business or technology of the Insurance Development Institute. However, this does not apply to the time when the Insurance Development Institute needs to inspect and restore the service, such as regular inspection or emergency restoration. The Insurance Development Institute divides the service into a certain range and can separately set the available time for each range, in which case it will be notified in advance.
Information and complaint processing time according to service use is 09:30 ~ 17:30 on weekdays. (12:00 ~ 13:00 excluding lunch time)
