Hello, today I would like to tell you how to apply for unemployment benefits.
First, you must meet the conditions for unemployment benefits to apply, so we will look at the conditions for unemployment benefits and explain the application process.

You must be enrolled in employment insurance among the four major insurances (national pension, health insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident insurance). (Required)
(In other words, payment is not possible for those who do not have employment insurance)

Requirements for receiving job-seeking benefits (Article 40 of the Employment Insurance Act)
You must meet both of the above conditions to receive unemployment benefits (job-seeking benefits).
In order to receive unemployment benefits in earnest, you must follow procedures 01 to 06 below.
It may seem tricky, but I will explain each step in an easy-to-understand manner.
① Change of job – Check whether the change of job confirmation has been processed
To officially confirm your job change, check whether your job change confirmation has been processed properly on the Employment Insurance website.

② Report loss of insurance eligibility and job change – Check processing status
Likewise, check whether the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service has approved the loss of insurance eligibility report and confirmation of job change submitted by the workplace.

③ Job application – Worknet job search registration
Once you have verified the job change confirmation and loss report, you must access the Worknet website and register for job search.
(This is an action that indicates that the person intends to seek re-employment)

Things to keep in mind when registering your resume
When choosing a desired occupation on your resume, you must choose the desired occupation in the future, so choose carefully.
④ Online training for eligible applicants – Complete watching the online training video
After registering for a job on Worknet, apply for and listen to the “Online Training for Recipient Eligibility Applicants” on the Employment Insurance website. (You must complete the course to the end to submit the application.)
⑤ Submit application for eligibility online
After completing the lecture, access the “Internet pre-submission of application for benefit eligibility” and select a date to visit the Employment Welfare Plus Center in the jurisdiction of your address. (Please note that if you only submit online, your benefit eligibility will not be recognized.)
※ Even if you submit the application for eligibility online, you must visit the Employment Welfare Plus Center in your jurisdiction to verify your identity and report unemployment to complete the application process.
⑥Application for eligibility for job-seeking benefits
The process ends with visiting the Employment Welfare Plus Center on the visit date selected online and applying for job-seeking benefits.
