First of all, the resignation report/confirmation of job change is processed by my previous employer. While the job change confirmation is being processed, all I have to do is apply for a job on Worknet and complete the online training for those who are eligible for benefits. Also, you can apply for a job even before you leave the company, but you can only take the online training for beneficiaries after you report your resignation. (After reporting resignation, before processing job change confirmation)
It is said that the processing period for the job change confirmation can take up to 3 weeks from the date of application for employment insurance. It took me about 10 days from the application date, excluding weekends, so it actually took about 2 weeks. Therefore, you should tell your former employer to submit the confirmation of job change as soon as possible, and if they do not do so quickly, you should urge them to do so. This is because if the job change confirmation is not processed, you will not be able to proceed to the next step.

Online training for eligible applicants is available on the Employment Insurance website and mobile phone app. I downloaded the app because it was more convenient to use my mobile phone, but if you are more comfortable using a computer, you can take the course on the website. Then, here we will guide you on how to do it on mobile. There is a link to the employment insurance app download page after the explanation, so you can go directly and download it. After installing the app, click “Online training for eligible applicants” on the first screen. However, even if the job change certificate has not yet been processed, the training must be completed only if the resignation report has been completed.
The online training video for eligible applicants takes about two hours, and each video is cut off for about 5 to 10 minutes, so you have to press the confirmation button in between.
