Stop advertising!!!
So, I thought let’s get rid of ads as much as KakaoTalk PC, so I’m going to share several ways to get rid of PC KakaoTalk ads.
First, there is someone who developed a KakaoTalk ad removal program.

Github is a community where developers share their programs. If you enter the link above, there is Download publish/setup.exe.
Clicking on it will take you to the same site as above. Click the download button at the bottom right to download.
After the setup file is installed, proceed with the installation. When you click it, an application installation security warning will appear, but it is not a strange program, so you can click it.
When the Windows PC Protection tab appears, click the Run button.
A yellow program in the lower right must have been executed! This is the KakaoTalk Adblock program. If you go into the start menu, you will find a program called KaKaoTalkAdBlock.
If you click Auto Run when Windows starts, it will automatically run KakaoTalk on your PC and block ads!

The advertisement I saw at the top disappeared, and rather, the hidden chat room started to appear!! It’s so simple right??
If there is a downside, it is not removed by adding/removing programs, but ① you have to go to the installed folder and delete it, and ② you have to manually update it.
In case of update, do you have the setup.exe file that was installed earlier? If you run it, it will automatically install the latest version!! You need to update to the latest version according to the KakaoTalk update.
Deletion is not that difficult. Go to Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Find KakaoTalk Adblock in the process.
Right-click – More – Open File Location and the installed folder will appear immediately.
Just remember location 1. It doesn’t really matter. There is a folder name in number 2, right? Please click here! The name of this folder varies from computer to computer.
Here, if you sort several folders by name, the folders that start with kaka will come up at the top. Just delete all the folders starting with kaka!
Those kaka folders are several versions of KakaoTalk Adblock, and the latest version is the folder we went into first. If you want to keep only the latest version, just delete the folder.

Please run it with administrator privileges.
It ends with KAKAO Ads has been successfully added to hosts list. If, like me, access is denied, it’s because anti-virus programs like pills prevent host server changes!
You can turn off the antivirus for a while or release it in the settings. There is a place where advertisements are loaded from KakaoTalk, and this part is being modified! Then, KakaoTalk tries to load an advertisement from the wrong place and fails, so the advertisement does not appear.
If you don’t want to download files, open notepad! Notepad -> File -> Open
After that, change the file extension view from Text Documents (*.txt) to All Files (*.*). Change to view all files
You can also enter the location directly.
If you go to the C drive – Windows – System32 – drivers – etc folder, there is a file called hosts. Please open this file with administrator privileges
The code above will appear, but add the above phrase to the bottom line. Just like when you download and run a file, it causes ads to be loaded from the wrong place. Then, the advertisement fails to load, and the advertisement does not appear!
Just type and save, and you’re done!
If you want to save, you do not have permission to save as above. Contact your administrator to obtain permission. What if a window pops up? This is because you did not open the hosts file with administrator privileges. If you open it with administrator privileges, it will work.
In this case, no update is required. Instead, the ad window does not disappear. There is a downside to covering the chat. It’s up to you to choose between the first method, which updates every time, or the second method, which does not require updates!
Personally, I think it’s best to be comfortable.
