We performed a BMW 420i #car inspection 4 years after it was registered! Today, we will share with you the #car inspection cost and scheduling. When you register a new car, the validity period of the new inspection for general passenger cars is 4 years, so the first regular inspection is 4 years after registration. The inspection period for regular inspections is 2 years, so the inspection cycle is every 2 years after the first inspection.
In general, there are two simple price categories for the vehicles we drive. It is classified into two categories: light vehicle and non-light vehicle, and except for models classified as light vehicles such as the Rey Matiz Morning, the inspection fee for small, medium, medium-sized, medium-large, and large SUVs is the same. The car I drive is classified as a small car, not a light vehicle, such as the Verna Accent K3 Sonata Grandeur Carnival Sorento Santa Fe Genesis G80 G90 GV80, etc.
In order to ensure safe driving and prevent accidents caused by poor car maintenance, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority mandates regular car inspections. However, while these inspections are mandatory if you own a car, they are not free, and you will have to pay for the inspection. You will also be required to have regular inspections, and if you fail to do so, you will be fined.

First of all, the cost of a comprehensive inspection vs. a periodic inspection varies by region, but if you don’t know this, you can go to the nearest repair shop or call and they will tell you. And nowadays, the inspection station will notify you in advance by text, postcard, etc. However, it is true that it is usually not easy to keep track of it in our busy lives. What we are curious about is the cost. First of all, the comprehensive car inspection costs 55,000 won for light cars and 60,000 won for other vehicles, and the regular car inspection costs 30,000 won for light cars and 35,000 won for other vehicles.

Please note that business passenger vehicles have a 2-year validity period for new inspections and a 1-year validity period for periodic inspections, while light vehicles, small vans, and cargo vehicles must undergo periodic inspections every 1 year after vehicle registration. The period of periodic inspection is 31 days before and after the expiration date of the inspection validity period, and the inspection is available during that period. For example, if the expiration date of the last inspection is January 5, 2023, the inspection period will be from December 5, 2022, (31 days before) to February 4, 2023, (31 days after).
Difference between regular inspection and comprehensive inspection A comprehensive inspection is a combination of a regular inspection and a detailed inspection. The latter refers to a detailed emissions inspection conducted in accordance with Article 63 of the Air Quality Conservation Act, which states that vehicles registered in air management areas must undergo a detailed inspection. The air management area includes most cities. Vehicles registered in the air management area are eligible for inspection, excluding electric and hydrogen vehicles, but including hybrid vehicles. Like the regular inspection, the overhaul inspection has an expiration date, but since the regular inspection and the overhaul inspection are combined into a comprehensive inspection, the expiration date of the regular inspection follows the expiration date of the overhaul inspection, so you do not need to consider the expiration date of the overhaul inspection separately. The difference between the regular inspection and the comprehensive inspection is that during the first regular inspection after the new vehicle is registered, you do not need to perform a detailed inspection, but only a regular inspection. After the second regular inspection, you must have a comprehensive inspection with a detailed inspection during the regular inspection. To summarize, the first car inspection after the first registration of a new car is a regular inspection, and after that, a comprehensive inspection (regular inspection + detailed inspection) will be performed.
