2023 Childbirth Support First Meeting Voucher Parental Benefit Information

Let’s learn about first meeting vouchers and parental benefits.
First meeting ticket
This voucher will be issued to children born from 2022 and will be paid via credit card or dedicated card upon application.
The same in 2023 (if you received childbirth support of 1 million won per single fetus during pregnancy)
After birth, an additional first meeting voucher amount of 2 million won is received.
2 million single fetuses
Twins 4 million
Triplets 6 million
Payment is made regardless of the parents’ income and assets.
It is possible to overlap with pregnancy and childbirth medical expenses.
Expiration date: 1 year
The baby’s caregiver applies at the administrative welfare center in the town, township, or neighborhood of residence.
You can also apply online through the Government 24 website or Welfare Road.

How to use the first meeting voucher
Excluding leisure, entertainment, and gambling industries
You can use it like cash anywhere, online or offline.
These days, many people use postpartum care centers to pay for their expenses.
You can also use it to purchase relatively large baby items such as car seats and strollers.

What is parental benefit (parental allowance)?
700,000 won per month from birth until 11 months
You can receive support of 350,000 won per month for up to 23 months.

However, if you attend a daycare center that is a childcare institution, you are not eligible for parental benefits.
Duplicate payment with child allowance is possible.
It does not apply to children born in 2023.
