임신출산진료비 신청방법Health Insurance Pregnancy and Childbirth Medical Expenses Support (National Happiness Card)
1. Qualifications – Pregnant women, health insurance
Health insurance subscribers or dependents who have confirmed pregnancy and childbirth (including miscarriage and stillbirth) and who have applied for pregnancy and childbirth medical expenses support
※ Excluded persons
– Those receiving medical aid (beneficiaries)
– Those who have applied for exclusion from health insurance as medical protection recipients such as independent meritorious persons
– Those who have lost their status (those whose resident registration has been canceled), those whose benefits have been suspended (those in special facilities, those who have left the country, etc.) at the time of application
2. Support contents – Medical expenses, 1 million won
1 million won voucher per pregnancy National Happiness Card support (1.4 million won support for pregnant women with multiple fetuses)
※ Additional 200,000 won for those vulnerable to childbirth
3. Support scope
– All medical expenses and medicine and treatment material purchase expenses for pregnant women and infants under 2 years old
4. How to use – Nursing institutions, Payment with the National Happiness Card
Pay your own share at nursing facilities nationwide using the National Happiness Card. ※ Up to 2 years after the expected delivery date (diagnosis of childbirth or miscarriage) after receiving the card.
※ Any remaining balance not used within the same period will be automatically cancelled.
5. Application method – In person, online
● In-person application
Visit an obstetrician/gynecologist and check the pregnancy/childbirth checkbox on the application form → Visit a nearby National Health Insurance Corporation branch or card sales office → Health insurance
Submit an application for payment of pregnancy/childbirth treatment expenses, apply for and issue the National Happiness Card
● Applicant
– The pregnant woman or her family
– In principle, the pregnant woman herself should apply. However, if it is difficult for her to apply due to a high-risk pregnancy, a family member

● Documents to submit
– Pregnancy/childbirth Application for medical expenses support and 1 copy of pregnancy confirmation (Appendix 2) ※ Fill out the pregnancy confirmation section on the application form at the medical institution and apply to the relevant institution – If a family member applies: Documents that can prove the relationship with the applicant (pregnant woman) ※ Representative ID, resident registration copy, family relationship certificate, etc.
