The minimum speed (download standard), which is the standard for determining compensation, is different for each product. In the case of KT’s 10Gb internet products, the minimum speed is 3Gbps for up to 10G products, 1.5Gbps for up to 5G products, and 1Gbps for up to 2.5G products.
The minimum speed of Giga Internet products is 500Mbps for up to 1G products and 250Mbps for up to 500Mbps products. In addition, the maximum Internet speed of 200M and special products have a minimum speed of 100Mbps and 50Mbps, respectively.
KT customers are eligible for compensation if their speed is measured more than five times in 30 minutes and the speed falls below the minimum speed for more than 60% of the measurements. The compensation amount is the usage fee on the day of measurement, and if the discount is reduced more than 5 days per month, the contract can be canceled without a discount refund.
Meanwhile, famous IT YouTuber Itseop previously signed up for KT’s 10G product, but complained that the actual speed was less than 100Mbps, but claimed that the same phenomenon was repeated without KT providing a clear solution.
The YouTuber who raised the issue said that while using the 10GB product, the internet speed was only around 100Mbps. According to his claim, he received up to 200Mbps internet service, which is less than half the price of the product he signed up for.
In relation to this, KT stated that it is doing its best to identify technical issues and resolve them smoothly.
